1. Why do I need a process server?
The certified process server acts as an unbiased third-party to your
legal proceedings. Process Servers are officers of the court.
2. How do I know that my papers
have been served?
Major Legal will contact you when service has been effectuated.
We will
give you status updates as often as you require. When the documents
have
been successfully served, we create an affidavit of service and
return it to
your firm. We can also email or fax a copy to you for your records
before mailing.
3. What does it cost to have my
documents legally served?
There are several factors that determine the service fee (click
here to see our services and fees):
-Location
-Urgency
-Type of documents
4. What if the person that I need
to serve is out of state?
Major Legal has the ability to get your documents served
out of state.
5. I am considering switching process
service companies, and I expect a very specific set of duties to
be performed. How can I be assured that Major Legal can handle all
of my requirements?
We are excited to learn about all of your needs and make it our
constant goal to exceed your expectations. We have found that communication
is the key to meeting the needs of our clients. We suggest calling
Major Legal to set up a meeting with John Bauer, the Operations
Manager, to discuss your needs and how exactly we can fulfill them.
6. How can I track the "status
of papers" that we give to Major Legal?
You can do this daily, as often as desired, by logging onto our
"Online
Process Serving Database", where the status of all papers
that you give us to serve are located. You log into the database
using a "private user name and password" that we assign
to you. When you log in, you will be able to view the full
status of each paper you give to us to serve, and if the paper has
been sucessfully served you will also be able to view an affidavit/return
of service or other document you file with the court. .
